Moving House Checklist

Moving house or moving office can be a daunting experience, especially if you have never done it before. Before packing a thing, be sure to take the time to read our moving house checklist to ensure that your move and transition to your new home is as smooth as possible. This moving checklist is meant as a guide and we strongly advise that all members partaking in the move write or use our moving recommendations to create their own moving house checklists with personal reminders and details attached.

- Make a list of all of the items that need to be packed for moving- including difficult and precious items such as bikes, pictures, wine, plasmas, golfing items ect.
- Assess the list of items that need to be packed and select and order a variety of removal boxes from a reputable moving house specialist such as Boxes R Us
- Book reputable removalists or transport for the move
- Make a list of companies that will need to be advised of your move to disconnect and reconnect any services (eg. Electricity, water, gas, internet/phone, newspaper delivery etc) Do this as soon as you can
- Redirect mail
- Begin packing early!

On the day of the move:
- Load the boxes so that you can access things you will need immediately without any trouble
- Carry valuables and possessions such as your passports etc with you to your new home rather than risking misplacing them
- Double check your home before departing for anything that could have been left behind
- Ask all family members to double check their personal moving house checklists to confirm nothing is left behind
